Battery disposal

In connection with the sale of batteries or rechargeable batteries or with the delivery of devices containing batteries or rechargeable batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following in accordance with the Battery Ordinance (“Batterieverordnung”):

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As the end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can return batteries free of charge after use at the point of sale or in your immediate vicinity (e.g. at municipal collection points or in shops). You can also return batteries to us by post. In any case, we will even refund the postage for returning your old battery.

Batteries or rechargeable batteries that contain harmful substances are marked with a crossed-out dustbin symbol.
The chemical name of the pollutant is next to the dustbin symbol.

We would also ask you to return to us any watches you have purchased from us that are defective or have become unusable. We will also refund the postage.

Note on waste avoidance

Article 29 of the “Abfallrahmenrichtlinie” (Waste Directive) (2008/98/EC-WFD i.V.m. (EU) 2018/851) and Paragraph 33 of the “Kreislaufwirtschaftsgesetzes” (Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act), a waste prevention program has been drawn up in Germany. The main waste prevention measures for electrical and electronic appliances include extending their service life by repairing defective appliances and selling used appliances instead of disposing of them. Please also observe the care and handling instructions enclosed with our watches to ensure many years of trouble-free operation.

The “Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz” (Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act) (ElektroG) contains a large number of requirements for the handling of electrical and electronic equipment. The most important ones are summarized here.

  1. Separate collection of old appliance: Electrical and electronic appliances that have become waste are referred to as old appliances. Owners of old appliances must dispose of them separately from unsorted municipal waste. Old appliances do not belong in household waste, but in special collection and return systems.
  2. Batteries and rechargeable batteries: As a rule, owners of old appliances must separate old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the old appliance before handing them in at a collection point. This does not apply if the waste equipment is handed in to public waste management authorities and separated from other waste equipment for the purpose of preparing it for reuse.
  3. Options for returning old appliances: Owners of old appliances from private households can hand them in at the collection points of the public waste disposal authorities or at the take-back points set up by manufacturers or distributors in accordance with the ElektroG. You can find an online list of collection and take-back points here: https://www.ear-system.de/ear-verzeichnis/sammel-und-ruecknahmestellen.jsf
  4. Data protection notice: Old appliances often contain sensitive personal data. This applies in particular to information and telecommunications technology devices such as computers and smartphones. In your own interest, please note that each end user is responsible for deleting the data on the old devices to be disposed of.
  5. Meaning of the “crossed-out wheeled garbage can” symbol: The symbol of a crossed-out wheelie garbage can regularly shown on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that the respective device must be collected separately from unsorted waste at the end of its service life.
  6. Manufacturer registration number: We are registered as a manufacturer within the meaning of the ElektroG with the responsible foundation Elektro-Altgeräte Register (EAR) under the following registration number: WEEE-Reg. No. DE 37716110
  7. Information on handling used batteries: In connection with the sale of batteries or rechargeable batteries or with the delivery of devices containing batteries or rechargeable batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following in accordance with the Battery Ordinance: In connection with the sale of batteries or rechargeable batteries or with the delivery of devices containing batteries or rechargeable batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following in accordance with the Battery Ordinance: Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
