Isaac Newton’s contribution to the modern world view is greater than most people know. In his major work “Principia Mathematica”, Newton established the concept of “absolute time” alongside the laws of gravity and motion. As time sequences had previously been derived from the celestial bodies, it was thought that time was “made” by them. Newton manifested time as an absolute physical quantity that exists independently of the celestial cosmos. This detachment from natural processes made possible the universally valid norms of structured and economic life according to time as we know it today.

The 316L stainless steel case with its matt brushed body and shiny polished bezel creates a particularly beautiful play of light that frames the watch. The visual and mechanical highlights of the 43 mm wristwatch are a raised brushed plate for displaying the percentage remaining power (F=m-a) of the mainspring and a 24-hour display symbolising the 24-hour movement of the sun and moon. This Roman-indexed matt white disc is used in particular to differentiate between day and night in order to correctly select the date switching point at midnight. In the lower dial position, the date display works behind a brushed gearwheel appliqué. The dials are enamelled and finished with a matt grain that adds depth to the design. The main hands are classically curved. The seconds hand is extra-long and, like the 24-hour hand and power reserve hand, has a tip and end in the design of 18th century technical graphs.

The precise mechanical movement runs on 26 jewels at 28,800 A/h (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of more than 40 hours when fully wound. The back of the watch is screwed down and allows a view of the movement through a large glass window. The watch series is available in a total of five different colours. The 316L stainless steel cases are silver or high-quality two-layer yellow gold or rose gold plated (IPG + real gold).

For the best possible protection against scratches, the “Isaac Newton – Principia Mathematica” is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal. The leather straps in black, blue, brown or umber are thickly padded, stitched, alligator embossed and fitted with a KRONSEGLER crest button and a folding clasp with safety double pushers. The models in blue and umbra are also available with a finely woven Milanese (mesh) bracelet made of stainless steel, which has a size-adjustable folding clasp. The watch is delivered in an exclusive box with a certificate card, polishing cloth and a detailed 20-page booklet
