Watch series for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, Kronsegler GmbH developed the watch series MARTIN LUTHER – EVANGELIUM. The innovation of this watch is a mechanical display for the seven days of the creation story. This display visualizes the days of creation* in words and symbols simultaneously with the weekdays Monday – Sunday.

After the development of a liturgy time display for the Vatican Observatories, this is the second Christian-based display function in a watch made by Kronsegler GmbH. The first edition consists of seven models in different colours with a limitation of 500 pieces each.

The case has a diameter of 40 mm and a thickness of 11.6 mm at the edge of the glass. At the highest point of the curved glass the thickness is 12 mm. The curvature merges directly into the bezel curvature, which creates a flat impression and makes the watch very wearable as a ladies’ watch, too. The three-part cases are made of 316L stainless steel and, depending on the model, are yellow gold or rose gold IPG and genuine gold plated.

The dials decorated with a partial sun pattern are optically divided into four fan-shaped segments. Three large Roman indices are applied, the other indices are printed. At 6 o’clock there is a modified numeric date. At the 12 o’clock position, the day of the week and the corresponding day of creation are displayed in a large section of the dial.

The clear watch glasses are made of K1 superfast material. The glass of the model “Bronze” is 50% brown colored mineral crystal, diamond film coated (DFC).

The hands are diamond cut and mounted as well as gold-plated or burnished depending on model.

The movement is a CITIZEN base with 21,600 A/H on 21 rubies which displays the date and day of the week/day of creation with modified discs. The power reserve when fully wound is 38 – 46 hours.

Padded cowhide leather in various colours with alligator embossing and an emblem button is used as ribbons. Depending on the model, the folding clasps are made of steel, gold-plated or rose gold-plated and provided with a security lock and engraved logo.
