The KronSegler “Isaac Newton – Principia Mathematica” is a complex mechanical watch which displays the power reserve F=m·a of the movement as well as the 24 hours of the day.
Isaac Newton’s merit for the modern world view is greater than most people know. Newton founded the term “absolute time” in his main work “Principia Mathematica” alongside gravity and movement laws. As one previously derived time from the stars, one thought that the time was “made” by them. Newton manifested the time as an absolute physical size that exists regardless of cosmic phenomena. This detachment from natural processes enabled the generally valid standards of a structured and economic life after the time we know it today.
The optical and mechanical highlights of the 43 mm large watch are a raised and brushed board for displaying the remaining power of the winding spring as well as a 24 hours display that symbolizes the sun’s and the moon’s course within 24 hours. In the lower dial position the date display works behind a brushed gear application. The dials are enamelled with a matte grain and dyed white, blue, black and umbra. The main hands are classically narrow curved. The second hand is overlong and, as it is the case with the hands of the 24 hours display and the power reserve, it’s tip and end is designed after technical graphs of the 17th century.
The movement is a 28.800 A/H fast beat movement mounted on 26 rubies. The power reserve after full winding is > 40 hours. The watch glass is made of sapphire. The 316L stainless steel case is silver or double layer yellow gold or rose gold plated (IPG + real gold).
The leather straps in black, blue, brown or umbra are thickly padded, alligator embossed and equipped with a KRONSEGLER coat of arms button and a folding clasp. The watch is delivered in an exclusive box with acertificate card and a detailed 20 page booklet.
