The “segment second” is a second hand consisting of three wing arms of different lengths, which sweeps a three-line second scale. This impressive floating second hand on the VERTIGO is driven by the new automatic movement K029.024 (CITIZEN Basis), which is a fast beat movement mounted on 24 rubies with 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The wing arms of different lengths glide successively over the scale segments and indicate the seconds 0 – 20 ; 20 – 40 and 40 – 60 with their diamond-shaped pointer tips. The watch with this second function is patented.

The extremely flat movement is also equipped with a modified date display at 6 o’clock. The date is larger than usual and framed by an applied frame.

Thanks to this movement, the 41 mm case has a thickness of only 9.6 mm, making it one of the thinnest automatic watches on the market.

The very classic high-quality watch is available in 4 colours with a steel or gold plated case and matt silver or onyx black dials. In the 2017 model series two new variants in bicolor onyx/rose and gold-blue were added. The crystal is a K1 glass with special scratch resistance.

The leather straps in black or dark brown are padded, alligator embossed and provided with a KRONSEGLER emblem button and a folding clasp with security double pusher. In the 2017 model series all watches are available with fine Milanaise steel straps in 2.5 mm thickness and 0.8 mm knitted thickness.

The VERTIGO is delivered in an exclusive dark green box with operating instructions, a certificate and a polishing cloth.
