RELATIVITY – Kronsegler Watch to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity

The EINSTEIN – RELATIVITY is a complex mechanical watch which displays the time, date, energy of the movement and the relative sun intensity.

The mechanical and optical highlight of the watch is a 24 hour disc which visualizes the course of the sun in a 360° scale. The disc is embedded in a multi-layered dial and has recessed symbols for both the sun and the moon. The colour of the sun changes from full red (noon) to deep blue (midnight). In particular it helps to find the date switching point around midnight comfortably.

In the lower dial position the date display works behind a circular opening. The automatic watch has a power reserve indicator that shows the percentage of remaining energy (E=mc²) of the mainspring of the movement. This display is located below the upper layer of the dial and rounds off its very plastic design.

The dial and the hands are kept in a clear design. The dial is matt silver or blue or umbra coloured. The sun discs are designed in white or silver-grey to match both case and dial. Slim bar hands in contrasting colours ensure a very good readability, which is reinforced with thin Superluminova tips.

The movement is a 28,800 A/H high frequency movement (4 HZ) mounted on 26 rubies. Once the watch is fully wound it has a power reserve of < 40 hours without further kinetic energy supply. The watch has a diameter of 43 mm and is 12 mm thick. The brushed body and the polished bezel lend the watch a distinctive appearence. The crystal is made of sapphire. The glass back of the watch is screwed and allows to see the movement. In total there are 5 colour combinations. The cases made of 316L stainless steel are silver or yellow gold or rose gold plated (both double layered, IPG + real gold). The leather strap in black, brown or anthracite is thickly padded, has a fine grained structure, is decorated with a contrasting seam and a KRONSEGLER emblem button and has a folding clasp with security lock. The watch comes in a dark green exclusive box with a certificate card, polishing cloth and a 24-page booklet with detailed description.
