MARIANA TRENCH stands out thanks to its extraordinary design, which sets it apart from many other watches that are water-resistant to 20 bar. Beneath its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, it features a dial with a distinctive relief structure representing the Mariana Trench. At its deepest points, the dial breaks through the boundary to the movement, allowing a view of some of the otherwise hidden ruby bearings and parts of the gear train through drilled craters. A 24-hour display is designed as a compass rose, with a hand shaped like a compass needle with a red tip indicating the 24-hour time. The date is located at the 6 o’clock position. Maritime dewdrop appliqués frame the date and name plateau.

Detailed surveying of the ocean floor has been an ambitious goal of scientists around the world for decades, and it is as dangerous as it is costly. Although a glance at a world map gives the impression that the Earth, including the ocean floor, has been completely mapped, in reality only a fraction of it has been explored. In this context, the Mariana Trench and the history of its exploration are particularly fascinating. This approximately 2,500-kilometer-long deep-sea trench, also known as the Mariana Trench, is located in the western Pacific Ocean. Its maximum depth, and thus the deepest point in the world’s oceans, is approximately 11,000 meters (approximately 36,000 feet) and is called the “Challenger Deep.” Like the Mariana Islands, the trench was named after the Spanish queen Maria Anna of Austria.

Key features of the automatic watch

The elaborate 10-piece steel case with ion-plated blue, brown, or black bezel measures approximately 46 mm in diameter and 14 mm in thickness and, in keeping with a diver’s watch, is shaped like a diving capsule.

The case back of the men’s watch is engraved with data relating to the Mariana Trench. A glass window reveals the movement’s balance wheel.

The large hands and hour markers filled with Superluminova ensure excellent readability even underwater and in the dark.

Waterproof padded nylon straps with extra-long buckle:

The nylon strap is softly padded and comfortable to wear, making it popular not only with swimmers and divers. Because only with a waterproof strap can waterproof watches truly be functional.

The straps of this men’s watch feature a KRONSEGLER crest button and are padded with water-repellent polyurethane on the underside. An extra-long pin buckle and PU-reinforced perforations ensure a secure fit on the wrist, unlike the Velcro fasteners, pull-through straps, or folding clasps often used on nylon straps. This prevents the watch from being lost in the water without notice.

The MARIANA TRENCH automatic watch is delivered in an exclusive Kronsegler box with a certificate card, a 16-page booklet with detailed descriptions, and a polishing cloth. The series is limited to 999 pieces.
