The Conquistador Automatic watch combines timekeeping with maritime history and offers many visual features that emphasize the theme.

On the high seas, timekeeping was of vital importance for a number of reasons. Even before the invention of a ship’s chronometer suitable for use at sea (more than 250 years after the discovery of the “New World”), people made do with hourglasses, which were very inaccurate in rough seas and had to be turned over every half hour, but could still be used, for example, to regulate watch duties, to keep track of time during days of fog and bad weather, or simply to measure the speed of the ship.

Precise precision engineering instead of an hourglass

The Conquistador automatic marine watch once again combines timekeeping with maritime history, joining our family of marine watches. However, the automatic watch functions entirely without sand and is powered by a modern movement with 21,600 A/h, which has a power reserve of approximately 42 hours, 84 times longer than a sand timer, and can also supply itself with energy thanks to its bidirectional winding rotor. In all color variants, the rotor is gold-plated and finished with a Geneva stripe pattern, which creates a wave-like structure.

The large Arabic numerals, which stand out in deep black against the silver-white dial, are particularly striking on the “Conquistador”.

The power reserve indicator blends harmoniously and unobtrusively into the overall design of the watch. The date display with week indication is located separately at the 6 o’clock position.

The dial is protected by flat sapphire crystal for the best possible protection against scratches.

Case with bi-finishing, globe crown, and wave-shaped strap lugs:

The 316L stainless steel (“surgical steel”) cases have many visual features that underscore this theme. The crown resembles a model of the globe marked with lines of longitude and latitude. The lugs on the case have a curved, inward-folding shape, similar to the bow waves of a ship, which is fitting for a maritime watch. The body is brushed lengthwise, giving it a matte sheen. The bezel and the waves of the lugs, on the other hand, are polished to a shine. This creates a lively contrast that almost makes you think you can hear the sound of the sea when you look at it.

The suede straps in blue, brown, gray-brown, and black are attached with double bars and feature a KronSegler crest button and a folding clasp with a double safety push-button. The artificially aged texture of this suede emphasizes the vintage look of the watch. A steel version of the “Conquistador” with a finely woven Milanese strap is also available.

The watch is available in 5 colors.

The “Conquistador” is delivered in a Kronsegler watch box with certificate, brand tag, detailed booklet, and polishing cloth.
