Complex automatic men’s watch with power reserve indicator and planetary constellation based on Copernicus’ model as a rotating 24-hour disc with sunrise and sunset.

The COPERNICUS wristwatch is a complex mechanical men’s watch which, in addition to the time, day of the week, and date, displays the power reserve of the movement and the planetary constellation according to Copernicus. He describes this planetary system in his magnum opus De revolutionibus orbium coelestium. During his lifetime, it was largely ignored or ridiculed – completely unjustifiably. The heliocentric world view is also known as the “Copernican world view,” the establishment of which led to the “Copernican revolution.” This plays an important role in historical science and represents a milestone in the transition from the Middle Ages to modern times.

Copernicus’ planetary system depicts a beautiful sunrise and sunset on the men’s watch dedicated to him. A disc rotating in 24 hours with a heliocentric planetary image shows the course of the sun in its daily play of colors, corresponding to a 360° scale. The disc is embedded in a multi-layered dial and features recessed symbols for the sun and earth, which change from full red (sunrise/sunset) to bright yellow-orange (noon) to black (midnight). It is used in particular to distinguish between day and night, and also to select the correct date change point at midnight.

The power reserve indicator on this automatic watch shows how much energy is left in the mainspring, but it’s designed to blend in with the dial. Once fully wound, the power reserve is over forty hours. This men’s watch also has a date display and shows the day of the week (in German). The dial has Roman numerals. The hands are cut in a classic design and filled with Superluminova luminous material.

The watch is visually striking with a diameter of 43 mm and a thickness of 12.5 mm, a brushed body and a polished bezel. It is also equipped with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The back of the watch is screwed down and has a large glass viewing window. The 316L stainless steel cases are silver or double-layered gold-plated (IPG + real gold).
The automatic movement is a 28,800 A/h fast oscillator (4 Hz) CITIZEN base 9110 and is mounted on 26 jewels. The power reserve after full winding is over 40 hours.

The leather strap in blue, black, brown, or anthracite is thickly padded, embossed with an alligator pattern, and features a KRONSEGLER crest button and a folding clasp with a double safety push-button. The watch is delivered in an exclusive box with a certificate card, a 24-page detailed booklet, and a polishing cloth.
